Presentation

In our presentation, I liked the fact that we worked together. Also, I liked the effort that we all put in our presentation, so that we can present a useful information to the students. There is more than one thing that I liked about my individual. I liked that I had the knowledge of chapter five materials.  I dislike the fact that no one of my group helped me to do the wiki chapter. I did all the work.
I want to address three areas of improvements in my next presentation. Firstly, we should finish all the work together, and no excuse will be accepted. Secondly, time, we should pay more attention to the time limited. Thirdly, we should prepare for everything before the presentation.

The World Is Flat

The World Is Flat
Summary of Chapter One
In chapter, one Thomas L. Friedman tries to show us how he reached to his theory about “the world is flat.” He was in India when this idea came into his mind. He was attending a conference in Nandan Nilekani’s conference room at Infosys. In his first chapter, he talks about how Columbus discovered the world. Also, he mentions that Columbus was the first one who said, “The world is round.” Moreover, he says in his book that Columbus opened a path for the people to trade goods. He points out that Columbus was seeking to find slaves, gold, and other resources. He talks about how Columbus traveled to discover the world by three ships. In some how he compared himself with Columbus in many ways. For example, the way of traveling, the seeking of rescuers, and the theory of the world all these elements led him to a good compression. He also admired the India youth, and how they developed in the field of technology. He was very surprised when he saw a big screen that connect the people outside the conference room. The conference made him think more about the globalization, and he missed all of that because he was busy. He was traveling to Arab countries after 9/11. Chapter one “While I Was Sleeping” is the simile of himself, and how he did not pay attention to the technology.

Ray Kurzweil on how technology will transform us

Mr. Ray Kurzweil is an engineer who has a vision that technology will transform us. His first point was about the sun's energy, and how we could meet all of our needs for 2030. Also, he said that we cannot do it because there are some problems that encountered the project. Plus, he showed some statistics about poverty in East Asia and the Pacific region. He told us that the number of poor people has become less than before, and in the future will be much less than now. He talked about technology, and how its growth so faster than human beings. His prediction about how technology will transform us and it can be the key of solving many problems in the near future.  When he talked about technology, he was very sure of his opinion. His beliefs are very interesting about how technology will change everything in the world. Also, he gave examples about technology transformed the shape of business and medicine field.
I think, he is a man with very strong beliefs because he could not predict about the google stock market, but he managed to predict about how technology will change our lives in the near future. I do not agree with him one hindered present, but I like something in his talk which was about how technology could save human life in medicine field. I believe that technology can help us to improve our skills and help us to facilitate our daily life, but I also believe that technology can harm us as well. I cannot argue with him because he is a famous person, and he is  professional in his job. But my point is that everything has two side the bad and the good.
